The holiday season is officially here and so is the countdown to the big event Find Christmas Downtown right here at The CORE on November 23rd. You may be wondering what exactly is Find Christmas Downtown, what is happening at it and how you can take part and enjoy this amazing evening!
Well, first of all this evening is full of the old-fashioned Christmas spirit, charm and excitement that makes a great night out with the family right in the heart of downtown Calgary. Celebrate in style as you get a head start on your holiday shopping; get whisked away into a marshmallow world as the numerous musical talents, including the amazing Dan Davidson, astound the crowds; and meet up with the holly jolly big man in red - the number one holiday celebrity, Santa Claus.
Tree Lighting Ceremony with Indoor Pyrotechnics
I’ve attending the tree lighting ceremony for years now and I almost always forget about the indoor pyrotechnics until the last minute. If you want to be absolutely amazed, I highly recommend you stay for this part of the show because you will be blown away - as I am, every single year. Get ready for some eye-popping visuals and just a generally great time as they do the ceremonial tree lighting officially kicking off the holiday season!
Headliner Dan Davidson
Country crooner Dan Davidson is the headlining music talent for the evening at 6pm and will be bringing his own brand of country Christmas charm to Find Christmas Downtown.
150 Trees for The Magic of Christmas Charity
Watch as 150 corporations, small businesses, individuals, media and non-profit organizations decorate 150 Christmas trees for The Magic of Christmas Charity. The charity which donates these 150 Christmas trees to families is also collecting supplies and gift items to send along with these trees. Check out their list here. The decorated trees will remain in the CORE until December 20th when they will delivered to families in need by The Magic of Christmas Charity.
Performances by School of Alberta Ballet and Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra
Always a magical part of Calgary Christmas traditions, performances by the School of Alberta Ballet and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra will be happening throughout the night. You’ll be sure to leave with sugar plums dancing through your head.
 Free Santa Claus Photos
Starting at the kickoff of Find Christmas Downtown, you can get a free photo with the one and only Santa Claus. Bring down the kids every Thursday-Sunday until Christmas to get your photos and do some holiday shopping.
